Ithaca League of Women Rollers
Uniform Check
This is a list of things to check when performing a uniform check:
For the Team
- Check that they have medical information on hand for each
skater. The usual method is for each skater to have a sealed
envelope with their name (derby & real) on it and their medical
information inside. You don't have to open the envelopes — you
can trust that people are operating in good faith. Check this for
each skater on the roster.
- Check that for each skater, they have documented that the person
has satisfied the minimum skills required in WFTDA appendix A. Check
this for each skater on the roster.
- Ensure that someone is designated as the team captain.
For Each Player
- Check that they have all required safety equipment: helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, mouth guard.
- Check that their number is printed legibly on their back and arms.
- Check that they're wearing quad roller skates.
- Check that they're not wearing any jewelry which appears dangerous to themselves or others.
- Check that the team captain has an "C" on her arms, and the
captain's designated alternate has an "A" on her arms.
